will buying an adaptor give ME a better connection?

Okay, my router is downstairs (a two-story house) and my room is upstairs; we have comcast internet. Will buying an adapter to put in my desktop make the signal from the router downstairs stronger for my PC? Would I have to disable the router downstairs or anything? I just want a stronger connection for ME and not anyone else lol

Are you talking about a wireless adapter?
If you're gaming direct Ethernet is the best solution for lowest latency and spike.

I'm talking about a wireless adapter. In a more simple version: If I buy a good wireless adapter for MY personal use, will it pick up the Comcast internet signal from downstairs better than without a wireless adapter?

Yes, if u buy a stronger wireless adapter it will have better signal.
But what would help more is buy an antenna for ur pc.
