Will DDR3 Work with DDR3L

Solution
DDR3L is, by specification, able to run on a 5v system alongside DDR3. No down volting required. The reverse however is NOT going to work. DDR3 will not run on a board designed specifically for DDR3L.

However, the warning given by @sizzling stands. It's a very bad idea to mix RAM.
Mixing RAM not bought as a kit even with the same make and exact model is not guaranteed to work, hence why we have matched kits. It's usually ok but not always.

In this case you would have to run all your RAM at the lower voltage 1.35v which may make your non L RAM unstable at stock speeds.

In short if your going to add RAM make sure its exactly the same as what you have to avoid possible issues.

my ddr3 ram is at 1.35v already. and im going to buy exact same Frequency / voltage / Cas to hopefully get it working

i hope it does. i mean i tried my brothers ram because it was curious and it worked and it had different cas and mhz
