Will DDR4 CPU work on DDR3 Motherboard and DDR3 RAM?

I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU from Intel Pentium G850 to Pentium G5600

When i was checking if everything will fit i found out that G5600 is working with DDR4-2400

I'm sure my Motherboard works with DDR3, same as my RAM Memory

My question is will it work? Everything besides that is ok.

Couldn't find anything about that so i created new thread, sorry if i missed something similar.

Thanks for you answer in advance! :)

The best processor that motherboard can handle is going to be the Intel Core I7-3770K, though the I5-3570 processor would be a nice upgrade as well. If I'm reading your RAM correctly (2x4GB DDR3-1600), that's good enough for now.

An upgrade to a new lower-end Intel system would be possible (depending on location - I used Germany's PC Part Picker to use Euros):

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i3-8100 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor (€106.00 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - H310M S2H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€63.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws 4 series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (€67.59 @ Amazon...
No, new cpu needs compatible chipset, ddr4 has more pins than ddr3, and different technology.
Same as DDR2 stick wont work in ddr3.
Its a logic.
What is your motherboard and rest of specs, what will you use your pc for and what do you expect from it?
If you are willing to upgrade cpu only

What CPU you can use is more dependent on which motherboard you have. Your current Pentium G850 is a socket 1155 motherboard. You can only use other socket 1155 processors with that motherboard, so a reasonable upgrade would be an Intel 2nd or 3rd generation Intel Core I-series processor.

To know what's available for you, we'd need an upgrade budget as well as the model number of your current motherboard.

Motherboard - GA-H61M-S1 GIGABYTE with H61 Chipset intel chipset
GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GT 1030 OC 2GB GDDR5
CPU - Intel Pentium G850
2 RAM sticks - GOODRAM 4GB 1600MHz

I use my PC pretty much for everything. From drawing and photoshop to gaming, from observing my usage of resources i've observed that my CPU is slowing whole computer down.

My budget is something about 250 euro, i could buy G5600 with motherboard and RAM sticks. But upgrading same CPU would be better for me it there is that option.

Motherboard - GA-H61M-S1 GIGABYTE with H61 Chipset intel chipset
GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GT 1030 OC 2GB GDDR5
CPU - Intel Pentium G850
2 RAM - GOODRAM 4GB 1600MHz

You could also go with a first gen Ryzen upgrade:

Or, once the new B450 motherboards become available, a lower-end. 2nd Gen Ryzen:

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (€98.84 @ Mindfactory)

Personally, I'd stick with the better processor on your current setup.

My question is the reverse: can I use ddr4 ram with ddr3 CPU? Or a higher speed say 1600 to 2400 ddr3 ram?
