Hey users, so I currently have a prebuilt pc. Basic budget build, nothing special. But i ran into some issues. Apparently my cpu AMD Ryzen 3 cant run dual monitors with one hmdi going into the motherboard. Ok, so im deciding upgrading to a AMD Ryzen 5 3400G. Its going into my Gigabyte A320M-S2H-CF (AM4) motherboard. Will I be able to use the hmdi ports via motherboard for dual monitor play?

Will the AMD Ryzen 5 3400 be able to Go into the Gigabyte A320M-S2H-CF motherboard ?
Yes but may need BIOS upgrade.
Integrated Graphics Processor:
  1. 1 x D-Sub port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60 Hz
  2. 1 x DVI-D port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60 Hz
    * The DVI-D port does not support D-Sub connection by adapter.
  3. 1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 4096x2160@24 Hz
    * Support for HDMI 1.4 version.
Maximum shared memory of 2 GB
What processor do you currently have?
What graphics card is installed?

It sounds like you have a display connected to a discrete graphics card and you're wanting to connect a second display using the motherboard's HDMI output. Is this correct?

The only SH2 I have found has 1x HDMI + 1x DVI + 1x VGA so you'd need a DVI-to-HDMI cable/adapter for the 2nd display.

AFAIK, all AMD APUs can handle dual monitors so that shouldn't be a problem... unless you have a CPU-only chip, in which case you don't have anything to actually drive the monitor outputs with and motherboard outputs won't work.

As Wolf wrote, sounds like you have a GPU. In that case, you should simply plug your 2nd monitor into the GPU using the appropriate adapter to convert either DVI or DP to HDMI.

Yeah im trying to do that, but im getting no response from my hdmi ports via motherboard. It has something to do with integrated graphics? My processor is an AMD Ryzen 3
and my GPU is Radeon RX 570 Series

If I recall correctly from looking at your motherboard's manual, it is as @CountMike states. There is no option to run both a discrete card and on-board graphics, simultaneously (even if your Ryzen 3/5 does have an APU). Connect both displays to the graphics card. Depending on what outputs you have, you may need to use an adapter cable.
