Hello

I was wondering if a "Xeon E3 1240 v2" CPU works on a "GA-H61M-DS2V" mainboard?
Because this cpu is not listed on the cpu support list..
But it uses the same 1155 socket..
(I saw "Xeon E3 1230 v2" works on a "GA-H61M-S2PV", which is not listed in support list neither)

Will it work??

Solution
Refer to the CPU support list is the best option to make sure. Using CPU outside of that list, when another people said they can use it is like gambling. Your motherboard only support sandy bridge Xeon CPU (without v2).
If you can, try the CPU before buy it, if it's possible.

Hello

Anyway I purchased "E3 1240 v2" CPU.
Then I tested that CPU on my GA H61M DS2V Mainboard.
And successfully it worked :)

Thank you for reply.
