Howdy & ThanQ for any responses. My Gigabyte GA-890-FXA-UD5 Rev 2.0 motherboard is restricted to 6 core CPUs & 16gb of RAM. Rev 3.1 allows 8 core CPUs & 32gb of RAM. Will flashing the bios upgrade my MB to the rev. 3.1? Gigabyte's spec page for Rev 2.0 doesn't show which version of the bios is installed. The bios version on the Rev 3.1 MB is "FEf".

The motherboard VRM is not capable of handling the 8350, I believe there were tweaks with future revisions..

On the memory front, it's possible the board could support 4x8GB and the specs have just not been updated, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Regardless, I can't think of many situations where an FX8350 is likely to be able to utilize 32GB of RAM anyway....
