Hello I'm upgrading my graphics card and was wondering if a gddr5 graphics card would work on a ddr3 motherboard.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte B150M-D3H DDR3

I'm not looking at a specific graphics card.

Last time i used a ddr3 graphics card on a ddr2 motherboard it didn't work so i'm not sure if it will work with a gddr5 graphics card on a ddr3 motherboard

Thank you

Solution
Memory type used in GPU (most GPU use DDR5 now) has no effect whatsoever on memory type used on motherboard. They're just not going to 'meet' at any point. So yes, any new graphic card will work fine on your motherboard.
