Guys my current rig is:

i5-2500k
sapphire HD 7850 2gb
Gigabyte z77P-D3 mobo
G. Skill ripjaws 8 gb ddr3 1600 mhz
corsair tx650 psu

I was planning to upgrade whole rig next year but unfortunately my GPU died on me few days back. Now I'm considering to buy Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb GPU to replace it but can't afford a whole rig right now. So I'm asking if the new GPU will be extermely bottlenecked or not. How much of performance loss are talking about in terms of frames per second? Will I be able to run games like Assassin's Creed Origins at high settings around 50 fps?

That i know. I mean to ask about performance drop, say in dx11 titles or dx 11 settings of latest titles. Moreover I may install win 10 soon if that's an issue.

A 2500k (unless heavily overclocked) will hold back a 1060 no doubt at all.

That said , its still a decent & pairing , is a good upgrade over a 7850 & will allow you to raise in game graphics settings considerably.

You will end up cpu bound in some recent titles but they will still be absolutely playable .
