I'm getting a GPU and the two main candidates are : sapphire r7 250x and Gigabyte GTX 750
my budget is very limited and my specs are :
i5 2400
gigabyte p61a
hec 350w
now with the 250x i can afford a hec 400w but the gtx is much better and my question is : will the gtx (and the 250x for that matter) run normally on my hec 350w ?

ps : I'm from Egypt so some brands may not be an option and the prices may vary
Thanks :D

MSI GeForce GTX 750 OC Twin Frozr Gaming1GB GDDR5 (N750 TF 1GD5/OC)
or
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 750 Windforce 2GB GDDR5 (GV-N750OC-2GI)

If these are the 2 cards in question...

... you better stay with the 1 GB MSI. It does not require a 6 pin PCIe aux. power cable like the 2 GB Gigabyte does. The MSI is designed to get all its power from the PCIe x16 slot (75W). If you go with the Gigabyte and add a 6 pin cable, you enable the card to draw an additional 75W if you decide to OC. That may make it too easy to overload the small PSU.

Another thought if your budget allows... if you would like to go with a 2GB card that is faster than either of those and still runs on a 350W PSU, look into the PNY GTX 750 Ti:

I have used this on a 300W PSU with a 65W CPU with no problems.

Btw, just to be sure I'm not leading you astray, can you tell me the exact model of Hec PSU that you have? The +12V rail is what is most important when planning a gfx card upgrade. Many low-end PSUs are wildly over-rated and can never safely live up to their wattage.

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 750 Windforce 1GB GDDR5 (GV-N750OC-1GI) is also an option
the PSU is HEC-350VN-2RX here's the sticker : http://imgur.com/MgVk5dU
also you can look here for the available GPUs : http://www.egprices.com/en/category/computers/vga-cards
best I can do is 1100 L.E :)

OK. With 2 x 20 amp +12V rails rated for 276W, that puts it safely in the 300W class. That's what I was afraid of. A true 400W PSU it is not. Knowing that, I would take back any recommendation I made of a card that requires a 6 pin aux power connection. Stay with one that gets all its power from the PCIe x16 slot. The PNY GTX 750Ti that I linked to above is at present, the fastest card on the market that does not require a 6 pin.

If it is not available where you need to shop, this EVGA is the next fastest of the GTX 750 Ti that require no 6 pin.

The only other option if you want to go with a faster card, would be to upgrade to a better PSU. But I have used both those GTX 750 Ti cards on machines I've built. They both are pretty good 1080p gamers with a Sand Bridge i5 processor.

All the Gigabyte GTX 750s seem to require a 6 pin. That doesn't alone make them draw more power, but it would allow you to OC it and that would chance frying your PSU. Does your PSU even have a 6 pin PCIe cable available?

Any of these EVGA cards should be fine: http://www.egprices.com/en/search/?&q=gtx%20750&brand=,251&store=&min=995&max=1100
Or these MSI: http://www.egprices.com/en/search/?&q=gtx%20750&brand=,93&store=&min=945&max=1100
Or these Zotac: http://www.egprices.com/en/search/?&q=gtx%20750&brand=,298&store=&min=945&max=1100

no I don't have a 6 pin PCIe cable but can i use an adapter? also what would be the best manufacurer?

Yes, you can use an adapter. But your PSU's +12V rail isn't going to take much load. And using a card that has added headroom for hefty OC'ing may tempt you to take the card beyond the capability of that PSU.

There is no BEST manufacturer. Evga has one of (if not the) best warranty.
