Just a quick question if my rx 580 will work.. I got it from my uncle. I was planning to use it on my old pc, its the only pc i have, i was also planning to buy a new prebuilt pc in the future. The question is since his rx 580 only has hdmi and 2 dp ports, will the hdmi work as usual if my motherboard only supports vga cards?

Specs:
cpu: i3 4160(yes the bottleneck)
mobo: msi h81m-p33
ram: crappy 1x8gb 1600 mhz (HX31C10F/8) <<< also got it from uncle
psu: 750w generic psu(swapping it with a true rated one with the help of my uncle ofc, the components in it might last for a while)
current vga card: gt 630( the hdmi dont work :<)
monitor: 1080p max, 60 hertz

also i dont have the card yet, my uncle gonna arrive soon next month

What is the make and model of your monitor? If your monitor has an HDMI port at your disposal alongside the HDMI port on your RX580, you're good to go. Speaking of RX580's...

Make and model of the unit? How old is the PSU? Probable that the PSU can effectively output 250W at best...I'd swap that out, ASAP, even if it's brand new, before you drop an RX580 into your system.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried powering the system off the iGPU without the discrete GPU in your system? If so, can you see what BIOS version you're on at this moment of time?

The brand of it is JEAANSP, I don't know the model of my monitor, but it sure does work though.

I'm at the latest one i think, v1.10 or 7817v1A, i remember flashing the bios with someone's help, yes, my monitor has HDMI and dp too.

PSU is arriving tomorrow, The corsair cx 650W true rated 80 plus bronze i think, got it for 1700 php which is i think 30 dollars

Thanks for the answer!

GPU will work fine as long as you change PSu first

Seasonic focus series are good
Depending on budget I could recommend a few
