Will I be able to overclock?

CPU: AMD FX 4300 (Unlocked)
Motherboard: ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX
PSU: ATX Switching Power Supply A-650BR
Cooler: Stock

My CPU is currently running at 3.8 Ghz (its standard speed). However, I am planning on overclocking it to around 4.6 Ghz but I am unsure of the hardware I will require for this. I'd like to know if I can overclock my CPU without changing any hardware, if so what should be replaced?

You shouldnt overclock with that system.
The stock cooler is not up to the task, nor is the motherboard.

You would be better off saving up for a new system.

That motherboard isn't great for overclocking it only has a 3+1vrm so you might find you can only get your oc stable at about 4.2ghz without it throttling. You should also upgrade your CPU cooler, the old stock FX ones aren't that great and are noisy under full load.

As a temporary solution, do you think overclocking to 4.2ghz will work providing I get a better cooler? I just need a little extra juice while I save up for a new system.

No, I wouldnt recommend OCing at all with those specs.
