Hey guys I was so wondering if I will be able to run DayZ and Arma 2/3 on Ultra on my new PC I just ordered. I know they are terribly optimized but I plan on playing them and they look really nice on Ultra.

My Rig:

i5 3330
Gigabyte G1 Gaming Gtx 970
Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600mhz

Note: I already had the CPU at home and I just ordered all my other parts I needed like the Gtx 970, Ram, Motherboard, etc.

You are fine. i used to play the dayz mod with a i3 sandy bridge and a 550 ti and was getting around 45 frames or so.

Since you have a 2 extra cores and an awesome GPU you will excel.

My buddy uses a i5 2300 with a gtx 460 i believe he gets around 40ish frames as well.

so you can run it. Can you do ultra? i believe so i have an i3 3570k oc to 4.4 and a 970 right now. i'm always at 60 frames with the highest settings at 1440p. i'm fairly sure you can do it.
Those games will probably be held back by your processor, which cannot be overclocked and only turbos up to 3.2GHz. They are quite demanding on the CPU, having to run everything in the large open world.

The graphics card is up to the job of doing Ultra, assuming you're playing at 1080p or a lower resolution. You have enough RAM as well.

Hopefully you won't get a bottleneck issue. Also the motherboard you ordered has to be a 7 series chipset to support your Ivy Bridge processor.

If you get choppy performance, it is probably due to the processor. If you're looking to upgrade it, get an i5-3570k or i7-3770k, or the non-k variants if the motherboard is not a Z77 that allows overclocking.
