I know this is a bit early to ask, but will I be able to keep all my programs and softwares installed if I upgrade to Win10 from Win7? Or would I have to install them all over again? Does upgrading to the technical preview allow this? The thing is I am a graphic designer and have tons of programs installed. If I reinstall each of it again, it would take me about a whole week.
Any help would be gladly welcome!

Thanks!

If you wait until Windows 10 is released to manufacturing (RTM), you will be able to perform an upgrade installation from Windows 7. You will not need to do a clean installation so long as your environment, including hardware and applications, is compatible with Windows 10.

Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is supported, including upgrading an installation complete with files and applications.

It has also been stated by Gabe Aul of Microsoft on Twitter that the intent is to allow users who upgrade to Windows 10 Technical Preview to then upgrade to Windows 10. With that said, Windows 10 is still prerelease software, users who install the technical preview should be prepared for the scenario where a clean installation is required.

Thanks for the reply, but I still have a bit of a doubt, if I upgrade to the commercial, final release, I will have to do a clean install?

Thanks a ton! Helped me out a lot!

I did the upgrade and I still have the original files that I had... not much as I put it on a brand new system that I built. Like the above poster, upgrade with caution. Create a backup to be safe. I created a partition for it, just in case.
