Will I benefit from a CPU and motherboard upgrade?

Hello,

I currently have this system:

CPU: Amd Athlon 64 X2 5000
RAM: 3.0 Gb
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5750
OS: Windows Vista 32 bit


I would like to upgrade this computer to the following:

CPU: AMD FX-8350 (after Motherboard upgrade)
RAM: 4.0 Gb
GPU: Same
OS: Same

I would like to know if this is even worth it and whether it will boost the speed of my computer when multitasking and playing games.

Yes you would benefit. Your CPU is quite outdated. Multitasking will see a big benefit. Gaming should see some even with that low end of a GPU.

You'll benefit from any number of cpu upgrades. The 8350 works best with a 990fx atx board; some are around $120. Avoid low end boards; get a board with the 8 pin 12v connector for better stability.
