Will I need a better Cooling system to overclock

Okay So here it goes, I currently am a hardcore gamer but have found myself getting owned more and more due to lag and just plain pc problems. So I have saved and decided its to much to build one myself. Thus I have a question, I am getting a http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Mega_Special_IV/ without a liquid cooling system and if i overclock the i7 with the Ultra ChillTec Thermo Electric CPU Cooler (Venom Boost Extreme OC Certified instead of the liquid cooling will i have any heat problems?

Note the most recent review is 2007, which then raises the question: Are there any technology revisions between then and now. A quick search on google shows the cooler costs about $90.00 retail. Looks like Cyberpower is charging that and then some. Admittingly, I don't know anything more about soild state cooler that the review article tells you.

But none of what I have written above answers your question. I do believe the cooler will handle overclocking at the levels provided by Cyberpower (so taking a 2.66GHz to 2.92GHz or 3.19GHz if you choose the 10% or 20%, respectfully.) I make this assertion based on the fact that if the CPU fans they install don't do the job then they have to fix your system at their expense (less shipping). Companies don't generally install parts that won't work intentionally.

If you plan on tweaking the system after you receive it then I'd recommend taking a look at www.frostytech.com .

You should be safe up to 3.6 GHz with that cooler. I'm not fimilar with cooler so I can't say if it will perform good enough to allow higher overclocks.

Why don't you build it yourself instead of buying from CyperpowerPC? You can get similar parts & performance from Newegg.com

Yes, i guess i could but seems complicated, but not sure if im tech savy enough to deal with $800 worth of parts.. lol

So When i look at my pc the ram seems fairly easy to get in.. just plug it in, but what about the installing the heat sync, would i have to put any thermal epoxy on or something? lol

+1 @ tecmo34. Build the system yourself. What is your budget?

IMO, you don't need a LCS if you don't want and extream OC. With a CM Hyper 212+ could be enough.

My budget is give or take $950 but I have extra fans that are decent and my power supply should work.

2- Get a 3x2GB kit RAM, with CL 7 or CL 8.
3- You can keep the EVGA mobo, and get a 5850. Forget the SLI.
4- Very good processor

Last Question, Since ati is the only cards that really support directx 11 is that what is relatively better atm?

^Yea, for now is the only GPU with DX 11 support, and this makes it the best option price/performance.

I been recommending the Prolimatech Megahalems of late both for its top notch performance and ease of installation. Using the IC Diamond 7 karat TIM with it. The machine I am typing from has a 3.7 GHz everyday OC w/ core temps in low 50's, 4.2 to 4.4 profiles get into low 70's
