Will I notice a drop going from dual channel to four sticks?

I currently have 2x4GB HyperX Fury RAM which I wanted to upgrade for a while as I see it maxing out while gaming. I have looked at prices and it's cheaper to buy another 2x4GB pair rather than 2x8GB and selling my old 2x4GB. I did some research but I can only find people comparing the speed and performance between dual channel and quad channel. My motherboard only supports dual channel so will I see a performance difference between dual channel and four sticks while gaming? I'm currently building a PC for a friend, if the new RAM dosen't work with my old ones, I can always take it out and throw it in his build so buying the RAM is not an issue and I'm aware it could not work with my current RAM as I'm buying two separate pairs.

you will not notice gain in Bandwidth but it will in ram response time. Basically you will postpone time when it will start to swap and will work with your ssd/hdd speed. when you will use 6 GB ram nothing will change (more-less) but when you go above 8 GB you will not slow down.
