Will it be worth it for me to upgrade i7 940xm?

I have been trying to get a straight answer but it seems impossible because people either don't know or don't care to answer my post on other forums.

I have a Toshiba x505-894 laptop(see here: http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/qosmio/X500/X505-Q894 )

I am having difficulties playing these two games: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=260&Itemid=435 and http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=278&Itemid=461 .

Basically the minimum specs require at least a cpu running at least 2.5 GHz, my i7 740qm currently runs @ 1.73 GHz/2.93 while the i7 940xm runs @ 2.13/3.33. Am I being mislead into thinking that I will see better performance?

These games are very processor dependant and Im pretty sure my video card is overkill for both games. I'm able to play Dawn of War and Empire Total War on Ultra averaging 20+ frames and well over 30 when i set it to high or customize the settings. Yet these games are so dependant on the cpu I get a slide show down to 10-15 fps with the lowest settings so i know its the cpu.

I also just ordered this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231295 but Im holding back on getting the new cpu until i get some better opinions. So please anyone out there can you give me some advice... buying a new laptop is not an option.. i might just max this one out and it will have to be what it is. But I would be completely happy if I could get the performance I need for these games with a new cpu.

I hope that helps...I'd imagine a slight upgrade like that wouldn't really make this any better.

I am a little confused by your response. What do you mean a slight upgrade? Were you referring to my RAM upgrade?? Because The question I am asking is will the i7 940xm be able to play those two games above with out getting bottle necked. Its faster and has a cpu mark of 4671 compared to the i7 740QM's 3577.

Ideally I wish someone with a simular setup that i have either on an alienware or a toshiba could test out those demos and let me know.

The cpu upgrade should help if you overclock it i think but am not sure. I am upgrading from i7 720 to i7 940
