Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 5
PSU: Evga bronze 750 watt
GPU: EVGA sc gtx 980 ti
CPU: i7 4790k
RAM: 16gb g-skill ares
Cooling: corsair h80i GT

Was this worth my money for 1080p? I really want to stream 720p or 1080p and I wanted to spend the right money.

Also, what is the appropriate hd for fast storage? Very new to all of this but I did quite a lot of research!

980ti is way overkill for 1080p. You'd do fine with a 970/390 or 980 (which is still overkill).

i7 will be great for streaming. Get a 256 GB SSD for your system drive and then a WD Black or Toshiba hard disk as your game/storage drive. I prefer those for reliability and fast access speed.

Does the 980 ti lighten the load on the cpu usage? because my issues before was that the gtx 760 didn't run too well on 720p. but when I streamed 720p on a gtx 980 ti it streamed a BIT better, very chopy still due to cpu. amd fx 8320.. but this is a huge upgrade!

If it uses hardware accelerated encoding, the cpu usage will not be affected.

hmm.. so was it a complete waste then? I mean.. I'm pretty much set for next gen games with a 970 then huh, I already ordered it but I just want to know these things. What game is worth the 980 ti?

The 980 Ti is also good especially if you want to use MSAA or TXAA.
It can run GTA V, MGS V, etc. with max settings at 1080p (even 1440p).
