Current Specs:
Motherboard:Asus P8H61-M LX3 R2.0 Micro ATX LGA1155
Memory:8GB
Storage:Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video card:GeForce GTX 650 Ti
CPU:Intel Core i3-2100

I'm planning on getting a new graphic card (GTX 1050 Ti) but I'm having second thoughts since the CPU is kinda weak next to it. If I had to get the GTX 1050 Ti and keep the CPU as it is, will I be having huge bottlenecks?
I don't mind a moderate amount of performance lose from the graphic card aslong it will make a difference compared to the GTX 650 Ti. I know getting a new CPU is also an option but the problem is that my mother board is very limited to CPUs from what I've seen and it's not worth getting a new mother board for this PC. Any type of help is appreciated if it will help me get to a conclusion. Also, apologies if I am posting in the wrong section.

Solution
It will vary heavily depending on what games you are interested in as some modern games are far more CPU-heavy than others. Most games will still run fine.

I'm willing to spend the same average amount on a new CPU. It was my plan from the beginning but as I mentioned, my motherboard is very limited to CPUs. For example, I was going for the Intel core i3-6100 but I found out that my motherboard is not compatible with that CPU. Not sure if I am going to mention this right but it mentions that it takes 2nd/3rd generation types so I am guessing that and Intel core i3-6100 is from the 6th generation so it won't work. Thanks for the reply

That's what I thought. Knowing it will run fine on some games gives me some hope. Thanks for the reply

I'd pick up a i5-3570 when you can, they go for around $100.

I checked on this one and people seem to praise it alot but the problem is that none of the shops in my country is selling it (Atleast from their websites). I will try to get one from somewhere else maybe ebay. Thanks for the recommendation

That chip has been discontinued for a while. If you want one for $100, you'll have to look at the used market as the few places which still have brand-new ones often sell them for considerably more than the original retail price.

Unless you need to upgrade your CPU right now, I'd just wait for a few weeks to see what sort of effect Ryzen's launch will have on the market. You may be able to something more powerful and cheaper two months from now, be it from going with Ryzen or from price adjustments to old and new Intel parts.

Oh, makes sense then that I was unable to find one since it's discontinued. I prefer new ones but yeah as you said, it will cost more now that it's hard to get one (atleast the new ones). I will wait a bit on the CPU until I test out the new GPU and as you said, prices may drop two months from now. Thanks once again for your help
