Will my CPU bottleneck Gtx 1050 ti?

My CPU is i3 540. I plan to game at 1366*768 res. Also my PSU has 17A on the 12V rail(looking to upgrade it).

In the case of most recent games, yes, your CPU will be a bottle neck. You'll still see an improvement in most games with a newer GPU, but most AAA games are going to need a decent quad-core to really thrive.

You can probably crank down CPU-dependent settings, like physics, particle effects, etc...and crank up things like Anti-Aliasing (especially with that low resolution monitor).

I mostly want to play Fifa, Gta 5, Far Cry etc. Only SP games, no MMOs or strategy games.

Ok, pretty much the same answer then. That CPU may struggle with GTA5 especially. Pick up a 1050 Ti and enjoy the benefits you can get out of it now, and save up for a cpu/mobo/memory upgrade down the road.
