Ok so my CPU is Intel Core I-7 2700K and I want to buy gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming but one of my friends said that my CPU isn't good enough and it will bottleneck gtx 1070, is he wrong or right?

Sry I am not that good at specs and these things .. :/

Solution
Your CPU will NOT bottleneck the GTX 1070.

EDIT: Did some research on your CPU and yeah, your good to go. Be aware that it also depends on the games your playing, if a game heavily depends on the CPU then it will bottleneck. How much bottleneck? I can't really say but I'm positive it will slightly be noticeable.

Oh OK thank you guys for the fast response, now I checked the dimension of gigabyte 1070 g1 gaming and it fits in my case, the connectors on the graphic card are 8 pins, I have 6+2 which means it will work too, and my CPU won't bottleneck the graphic card so I am good to go right? It's the first time I upgrade my PC, I don't want to buy a graphic card for 419 bucks and find out that it does not work.. xD

Sry for bothering tho..

Oh I meant to choose another answer sorry...

I unselected the answer for you, you can choose again. Glad everyone in the thread helped out.

6+2 pin on psu absolutely fine,2700k absolutely fine.
If anything your monitor will be the bottleneck rather than any of your pc components.
the 1070 is a 1080p 100htz+ or 1440p 60htz gpu - for a 1080p 60htz screen its absolutely overkill imo (unless you want to futureproof yourself to the insane level of 5 years +)
