will my cpu bottleneck my gpu

i have an i5 7400 and am getting a gtx 1080 strix i know its overkill for 1080p but i want it to be futureproof will the cpu bottleneck??

Really depends on the game(s) or task(s) in question.

Generally speaking, yes.... an i5-7400 would hold back a 1080 in a decent number of games etc, especially at 1080p

you know games like fortnite bo4 etc so it would make my fps how much worse est
also will using a program to put it at like 1440p or 4k cancel the bottleneck
