Hello!, I' currently looking to upgrade my Geforce 980 graphic card for a geforce 2080ti , but I am not sure if my processor ( Intel® Core™ i7-5820k ) will bottleneck the new GPU. I hope to be able to play games on 4k at 60 fps. Also if my processor is not powerful enough wich one would enough for my motherboard ( MSI X99)? .
I am sorry if my questions are too obvious, I'm just starting to learn about pcs.

This^ I'm 99% sure you'll never run into a CPU bottleneck at 4K, since a 2080ti is still not pushing much more than 60 fps.

Try playing the games you like, but put the resolution down to 1080p (or lower) with your desired settings, it'll give you a better representation of what your CPU is capable of. The strain on a CPU at 1080p vs 4k is pretty much the same, assuming the settings are the same and the FPS is equal.

If your processor can push games at 60+ FPS at lower resolutions, it won't have any issues with 4k where even the 2080ti will barely be able to push 60 FPS itself.

Intel serie #5 it is not the best option for 4k resolution. Did you already have a 4k display? Did you really need that? In my opinion, you could get a GTX 1080ti OC, with a 2k monitor with 1ms gray to gray, and spend the rest of money in some SSD and/or RAM. I think you will be happier.

I ran a 5930k @ 4k with tri-sli 980s, titan x sli, and 1080 sli. Never had a bottleneck with it and the 5820 is very similar. You'll be fine. Can always oc your cpu a little bit too if you're worried.
