[SOLVED] Will my GPU work with my older PSU?

I'm confused by my GPUs 8? 6+2? pin picture in the manual and am not sure if my PSU supports it? It shows no incompatibility in pcpartpicker though. I'm getting the PSU from a friend so I don't have it yet. I'm not sure if it'll work? When I look at pics on the PSU they don't seem to line up. Do i need adapters? a different PSU?

This is my second PC build but I'm feeling like noob with the question but I built it 7 years ago now.

The EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 has all the GPU connectors (PCI-e power) you need for the RTX 2070 Super and some extra.
It has 4 x 6+2-Pin
6+2= 8
You could either use this connectors on 6-pin or 8-pin GPU connections.
Two pins are detachable in case your GPU needs a 6-pin connector.

Thanks so much for your help. That picture just confused me. So will my PSU have both those type 8 pins and I need to select the correct one? Or will it only have the one I need? I had no idea 8 pins even differed like this. Or is that the difference between 8 pin and 6+2 pin?

If your PSU is the the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 it does have the connectors and you just need to pick the right one.
Connect one side to the PSU and the other to the GPU.

Most 8-pin PCI-e power cables are 6+2-pin cables.
You could detach 2-pins to make it fit in a 6-pin connector.
