Will my LGA1366 heatsink fit 1151 socket?

I have a first gen i7 with a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme Rev. C CPU Cooler heatsink. I bought the heatsink 5 years ago, so any additional hardware I would have received with it is lost forever. I just bought a i5-6600k, and realized it doesn't come with a heatsink. Does anyone know if this heatsink will also work with the 6600k?

No, your cooler will not work with the new socket. There may be some additional hardware that would have made it work, but since you mentioned only having what's installed now, there is no way it can fit.

Pick up a 212 Evo for cheap!

some motherboards have a 'combo cooler option' that allows the use of 775, 1155 and 1156 socketed heatsinks, for example my gigabyte z68 mobo.
i'm guessing new motherboards probably won't have that feature, but it won't hurt to check the manual online if you are shopping for a new mobo.
