[SOLVED] Will my motherboard support my chosen CPU?

Hello!

I currently have on my computer a motherboard from Gigabyte (Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H) and an i5 6600 3.3 GHz which is what came in my original build. The thing is that my CPU is starting to get old and can't handle the games I play (90% while gaming) so I'm looking for a replacement.
I thought about upgrading to a i9-9900K or a i7-9700K. The thing is that I don't know if my motherboard can support these 9 gen CPUs (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-B150M-D3H-rev-10#ov on their homepage it says it supports 6, 7 gen but not later, but http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/GigaByte/Gigabyte_GA-B150M-D3H/3859/Compatible_CPUs says it does).
Thanks for any help :)

Also the 9900k is a beast. You need a high end Z390 (or Z370 with BIOS update) but its essential it has good quality VRM’s to deliver sufficient power. It also needs a high end cooling solution.

The 9700k is less demanding on motherboard and cooling but still needs relatively good/high end hardware to run properly.

The i7 upgrade options available for your motherboard are usually overpriced for very limited performance improvements and outperformed by a mid range modern cpu. Really you want a new motherboard and CPU, if you had the money for a 9900k you should be able to go for a good quality B450 motherboard, Ryzen R7 3700X and 2x8gb 3200-3600 MHz RAM. This setup would perform very close to a 9900k and chances are for gaming you would not tell the difference unless running a low resolution with a very strong gpu. I’m assuming your RAM is quite slow too by modern standards give the age of your motherboard and cpu.

Damn I was afraid of having to change motherboard as well, lesser the change the easier it is XD

I've looked into the ryzens before and I had them as a replacement if motherboard needed to be changed, but thank you so much for pointing out the B450 neccesity.

My loadout will then prob be Motherboard MSI B450M MORTAR MAX-mATX / B450 (only microATX can fit in my case) and CPU Ryzen R7 3700X. Much cheaper replacement than the 9900k, ~450€ cost in my country, and it should hold very good performance

Currently have a 8x2 with 1066 MHz RAM which have held to this point, but if it needs change then I will switch for Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16 GB (2x8GB) / 3200 MHz / DDR4

Hopefully this will work out, and thanks for the answer!

Looks like a good plan 👍
