Will my motherboard support this RAM?

Hello, I have a PRETTY old computer, so I am going to upgrade my computer step by step, so my PC specs right now looks like this:
- Intel Core i3 2120 @ 3.30GHz
- 1x4 GB DDR3
- AMD HD 5450
- Motherboard (FUJITSU D2990-A1)
So I've read that my motherboard only supports 1333MHz DDR3 speed, and the RAM I am about to buy is 2x8 DDR3 @ 2400MHz, now I know that there will be bottlenecks, but will my computer still be able to start and use the 16GB, even if it will not run at 2400MHz? Like, my computer will use the ram for 16GB 1333MHz, without any crashes? Thanks

Solution
The memory will default to 1333, you might be able to get it to run at 1600. i3-2120 doesn't support memory overclocking. (DDR3 1333 was the original standard, it has since been increased to 1600, but anything beyond that is overclocking)

If you are buying this faster memory just so you have it for a later CPU upgrade (i5-3570k or something) then that might work, but your motherboard really isn't suitable for much tinkering.

For now I would just buy another 4GB stick, and upgrade the GPU. When you have saved enough money, upgrade to a new motherboard/processor/ram.
