hi, i don't turn off my PC at all......i just let it go to Sleep overnight..........i've never used an USB Hub before so if i leave the Hub connected 24/7 to the PC.......will the PC detect the USB Hub whenever i wake the PC from sleep Mode ??..............or do i have to disconnect and then re-connect the USB Hub again every time ?

lastly, will the USB Hub overheat if i leave it connected to the PC 24/7 without anything connected to the USB Hub itself?

many thanks

You do not need to worry about this.

My USB Hub is always detected when my PC wakes up from sleep mode.

My USB Hub barely gets warm when my PC is used all day, regardless of whether anything is connected to it or not.

MANY THANKS FOR THE INFO............. :D

by the way, i plan to buy a UN-powered USB Hub.........can it power up (1 external SSD + 1 external HDD) at the same time ?.........if not, how about 2 external SSDs at the same time ?

i assume i can transfer data between the 2 connected external storage devices ?

My USB Hub is mains-powered and I advise you to buy the same, then you need not worry about any devices plugged in to it having sufficient power. Mains-powered ones cost more but the extra cost is worth it in my opinion.

Yes, you can.

okay................many thanks again................i'm looking at UNpowered ones becoz i rarely need to use the USB Hub...........

how about those USB expansion cards that you put inside a PC ?......are they better and more reliable + durable ??

USB expansion cards are okay, I've used them in the past, but I wouldn't say they were better or more reliable than a hub.

With a hub you can move it from one PC to another, either now or in the future.
Less hassle and quicker setting it up as well, you just plug it in.
