Yes. It's 6 cores should keep up in nearly all games. The 6300, although somewhat outdated is still a pretty solid gaming processor. A 1060 should work well. But anything more (gtx 1070/80/80ti) might be pushing the CPU boundaries.

It's 6 weak cores. Most games focus on 1 good core. Look at basically any benchmark usually the 1060 will allow more fps with a 7700k than a 6300 is capable of on the same game... meaning the CPU will hold it back

You might be right but the 7700K is over triple the price+mobo. I think he might wanna get by with the 6300 for now.
Lol why would you put a 7700k with a 1060? The new 1300x however.. that would make perfect sense. And it doesn't change the fact he asked a question which I answered correctly.

Very funny. Because in your opinion his existing platform will bottleneck a few cpu intensive games by a few fps that a new platform would be best. I agree with that a$$e$$ment but it's not critical right away. I think he just wants the gfx for now.

I got the r7 370 2gb and I think i'll get a little fps boost before I buy new ram+motherboard+cpu,
