Will my PSU be good enough for my plans?

Hello!

If a thread already exists for this or its in the wrong section, I apologise, I couldn't find anything else.

But on to the point, I'm planning on upgrading my graphics card and my CPU soon for gaming. My PC came pre-built as it was a present from a relative who wasn't confident buiding themselves.

It has the following components;
Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3 motherboard,
Intel i3-4160 3.6GHz CPU,
Nvidia GTX 750 1GB (Not the 750ti 2GB) GPU,
8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM.

I'm looking at upgrading to an Intel i5-4690k 3.5GHz CPU and an MSI GTX 960 4GB GPU.

Briefly, I was wondering whether my PSU is powerful enough for this CPU and GPU combination. Its an FSP 500-60HHN. I couldn't find much about it online, though it states on the side of the physical unit that its maximum output shall not exceed 500W.

If I've left anything necessary out, feel free to ask. Cheers in advance,

That price doesn't buy you much when it comes to quality in a 500W-plus PSU. But XFX makes a really nice 550W for a bit more: http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-P1-550S-XXB9-BRONZE-CERTIFIED-Warranty/dp/B005JTBNVC/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1444945632&sr=1-2&keywords=xfx
Being in the US, I'm not familiar with the best prices in the UK, so I just used Amazon as an example.

I'm not quite sure what the nameplate looks like, I'll try and provide a picture of it later (I'm cleaning the case out later today, so that'll be a prime opportunity to do so).

Though I did manage to find this on their website; http://www.fsp-group.com.tw/index.php?do=proinfo&id=158

It appears to be the exact same model, if its useful.

Yeah, that PSU would be marginal for the GTX 960. It will be pushing the +12V rail beyond its capacity during intense GPU; when it nears 100%. Will it work? yes. Will the PSU last? For awhile. Most PSUs are efficient only up to 80%. You'll be running yours beyond that. If you go for the GTX 960 and notice shutdowns or reboots occurring, that will be a sign the PSU can't handle the card.

Thank you very much for the advice, I don't really want to take any risks with reboots etc. Could you possibly point me in the direction of a PSU which could handle a GTX 960 and i5-4690k? I'm not *too* bothered about overclocking, but I might in the future. I'd like room to be able to, if you know what I mean there.

Well, I'm not too sure on how much a reliable PSU with high enough requirements would cost. I suppose something around £35-50, though I'm willing to go higher if its worth it in the long run.
