Go to Gigabyte's website and look for the motherboard manual.

The manual should provide 1) a list of supported RAM sticks and, 2) the supported RAM configurations.

The manual will likely suggest that you visit Gigabyte's website for more up to date information. So do that as well.

Yes, that is what I have done and the mb supports the 16 GB stick but the 32GB stick isn't in the list.
I reckon it means either that the 32 GB stick isn't supported, or the list isn't updated or any other reason. I mean there are sticks that works on a mb although they are not on the combability list of the manufacturer.

I find it strange that the 16 GB would work but not the 32 GB when they are the same manufacturer and type.

Could it be that the mb doesn't support 32 GB sticks at all? Have to look that up I suppose :)

EDIT: The mb supports 48 GB sticks. In the combability list there is no 48 GB stick...hmmm.
