Will the ASUS GTX 1080 OC Edition fit my case?

As the tittle suggests, I currently have a set up of ASUS GTX 760 SLI and currently, I am unsure if this card will fit my case in SLI. My current case is Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) and when configuring the fit via PCPartPicker, it shows that "The Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 430mm long, but video cards over 295mm may block drive bays. Since the Asus GeForce GTX 1080 8GB STRIX Video Card is 298mm long, some drive bays may not be usable."

I'm cutting it close with 3mm. I currently have the setup up where the cards have excellent space available and drive bays removed to accommodate future installs. I feel like the slot for the first card will fit fine, but I am unsure for the slot below the first card as I feel like the drive bay at the bottom will block it. I don't want to remove the bottom drive bay as it's screwed together to the case on the bottom and the top bay as well. The middle base was easily removed from clip-on. If you look at the pictures below, you will see what I mean. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

with HDD cage removed, as the picture shows you have removed the middle one max gpu length = 430mm

the longest ROG 1080 strix is 11.73" ( ~298mm long )





measure this space to be 100% sure

nothing is stopping you from using a smaller gtx 1080 on the bottom slot for sli however

my experience from trying to fit a 25mm-thick fan into a 24~25mm gap tells me that even a single milimetre is not to mess around, 3mm is larger than you think, your card may push against the board which will not be good in long term.

You can do as maxalge suggested: using a different card for the lower VGA, or replace the heatsink with waterblock, from what I see the PCB is ~1cm shorter than the heatsink.
