That's likely to happen, but it depends entirely on the game.

Honestly depends of the games you play. Very CPU intensive games you will notice a bottleneck. Highly suggested to upgrade in the future. I used a G4400 for a few weeks but it wasn't for gaming. Rather snappy due to its architecture and higher IPC cores.

Yes, the CPU will be the limiting factor in some CPU intensive games, like Battlefield 1 with 64-players and The Witcher 3 in Novigrad city, especially at lower resolutions. Other times however, such as the majority of the gameplay in The Witcher 3, will still be GPU limited. Also, please note that some games will not even start up on a 2-threaded CPU. (Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal and Titanfall 2 are all examples)

GTA5 will bottleneck pretty hard. GTA V likes 4 threads. Call of duty? Not so much, depending on which game. But I don't think it will render the game unplayable.

If you can- wait for January release of Kaby Lake 4-thread Pentium, or 4-Core Zen, or just get an i3 6100.

Being able to run it, and average fps mean nothing in this case. Gameplay is choppy with frame times dropping to 100-300ms all the time (see 3rd-5th slide in that link).

Agreed, but he could do something like disabling the shadows, that would remove the choppiness.

bottleneck? yes. but can it play GTA V, the witcher 3, far cry 4 etc? yes, BUT you must find some trick to play them without stuttering a lot, especially GTA V. here's some solutions for playing GTA V and The Witcher 3 without stuttering, and get through far cry 4 blackscreen:
