Hi there I was wondering if you could tell me if a Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB Graphics card was compatible with my Gigabyte G1.Guerrilla Gaming Motherboard ?

It's a 3 year old Mobo so I'm not sure but I hope someone will have the answer!
The last bios update was in 2012 so I'm not sure if it will work in my system !

Help

Thanks

James

Will 550w be enough for my rig ?

here are my specs:
i7 980 3.33GHz
Gigabyte GTX 770 WindForce 3x OC 2GB
Kingston HyperX Blu 12GB
Gigabyte G1.Guerrilla Intel® X58+ ICH10R
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB Corsair

It has two 12V rails with combined wattage of 660W which should provide more than 40amps. As for the connectors, I already mentioned before that you have 4+4pin connection and that I don't know if it can be used as a 8pin connector.

As long as you don't overclock, yes.

I went on a PSU calculator It said I would hit 540w at 100% load so I should be good ?

I don't think that calculator is correct, probably it added 50W more just to be more reliable. I am pretty much sure that it won't go over 500W, even pcpartpicker says 460W.

Anyway, you'll just boot your pc and see if it works. I assume you won't start intensive games immediately.

I will see if the XFX 550w works when I get home. Hopefully I will have more luck. If not I might have to go ahead and order a 8pin.

These are the cables you get with the XFX 550w http://gyazo.com/f8d327a3fd6f41545ea935ae2ad39755

This is your current (Be Quiet! CM BQT L8-730W PSU Pure Power)

So you do have 6pin and 2+6pin connectors. You don't need the XFX PSU...

Yes the Be Quiet PSU has two modular PCIE Cable slots, one green & one red. But do I put one the from the red one and one from the green one in the 770 or no? Or do I just use one or the other?

I also thought the PSU didn't have enough amps ?

This is what the PSU looks like from behind:

Here are the GPU's pin slots as you posted before http://legitreviews.com/images/reviews/2218/gigabyte-gtx770-power.jpg

All you need to do is to place a 6pin connector to the 6pin slot, and a 6+2pin connector to the 8pin slot. You already mentioned that you have one cable that splits into one 6pin connector and one 6+2pin connector, so use that cable into the PCIe 1 slot, and connect the both ends (6pin and 6+2pin) to the GPU.

I will do. I'll comment back in around 4 hours when I get home!

Thanks

I have the same issue with my GTX 770 Classified.
I get black screen 25% of times / images frozen 75% when I play games likes Assasin Creed Black Flag or Splinter Cell Black List for around 1 hour
This mobo is Not PCI 3.0 ready, Could this be the problem???

My specs:
i7 950 3.06GHz
Corsair Hydro Series H80
EVGA GTX 770 ACX Cooler Classified 4 GB
Kingston HyperX T1 12GB
Gigabyte G1.Guerrilla Intel® X58+ ICH10R
Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 240 GB SATA 6.0 x 2
PSU Seasonic PLATINUM-1000 ATX

My motherboard works fine with my GTX 770. All I did was put my card into a different PCI slot and I never had the problem again.

Did you put the GPU on the PCIEX16_1 slot? Have you checked the CPU and GPU temps?

I will try that when i get crash again. Thanks in advance!

I am using the first PCI X16 slot, I will try Trimax solution next time (Is there any difference using slot 2 instead of 1?). About temps, I didnt check that. I would like to know if theres a way to record temps, I appreciate your help

I've selected the two readings that could be causing your problem. You should have around 12V on the +12V rail. To make sure if the CPU is not getting enough voltage check again in the BIOS. As for the temp on the TMPIN0, personally I don't know whats that, but looking up on the net I found different solutions. Some say that it's a made up temp from HW Monitor because the MB doesn't have that sensor, others say that depends on your MB. However, since you are using a Gigabyte MB I found this:

I have gigabyte MB and the readings are

TMPIN0 - core
TMPIN1 - CPU temp
TMPIN2 - MOFSET temperature

Meaning that 106c is alarming

someone is selling me his i7 980 with GA-X58A-UD3R, noctua d14 and a 4gb ram but without PSU and GFX for around 409USD. is this worth it? if yes, what Corsair PSU should i use if i want to buy GTX 770 GFX? and im planning to upgrade the ram also to 16gb or 8gb for now.

hoping for everyone's opinion. thanks!

ps. casing, hdd, ssd and other stuffs is not a problem.

I have just run into the same problem but its with the Asus GTX 690's, had to send in the cards to a repair shop and come back clean, cards are working fine and was recommended to use "an X79 chipset motherboard e.g. the Asus Rampage ROG for the best performance". I have an Radeon 7990HD which works fine with no problems with the G1.Guerrilla. Is there a custom BIOS for the motherboard or the GPU's i can use to solve this problem.

First card installed windows updated sofwere and drives nextday get black screen and 1 long and 3 short beeps indicating no GPU installed.
Second card stopped after 10 minutes in the Bios while setting up Raid 0 on the Sata 3 ports.

Spent all off my funds upgrading the ageing 6970's i had in crossfire, PSU got upgraded
