Will the i5 8400/msi h310m gaming plus/Corsair Vengeance 8gb 2400mhz(CMK8GX4M1A2400C16) be a good combo?

So a friend of mine wants to upgrade his rig but he isn't sure which motherboard and ram to pair with the i5 8400. Is this combo good? If not what combo would you recommend. His budget is around 300-350ish€. Thanks in advance.

Yeah that'd work fine. Personally I'd try to get 2666 MHz RAM (max speed supported by that CPU/mobo), usually doesn't really cost any more than 2400 MHz.
