Will the jump from 560 fermi ti to 7970 be justified?

I built a pc last year on a $2700.00 budget. The only thing I held back on was the gpu choosing an
EVGA 560 fermi ti 1 Gig card. The machine runs great I can crank most games up on ultra barring
skyrim. Would there be a considerable difference in gpu's if I went with a 7970 now? Also the monitor
Im running is a 24 in. should I just stick with the video card that I have and go for a 30 in. display?

Solution
Yes 7970 would be a nice upgrade. If you get a 30 inch monitor instead I dont think you 560 TI will be able to play games at 2560x1600 resolution smoothly. Also make sure your power supply has enough watts for 7970 as they take one six pin and one eight pin

You will have a far superior experience with a 7970 then you would with a 560Ti. With games using more then 2 gigabytes, a superior memory interface with the 7970 along with amount of speed that you would have over a 7970 it would be worth it however, that being said it may be wise to watch prices over the next couple of months leading up to the release of the newer cards.

Video cards were on the cheap during the holidays and now that the holidays are over the pricing has gone up. If you aren't in a hurry to buy it may be wise to watch the prices.

Here is a list of the 7970 and the Ghz edition cards from the lowest cost to the highest cost.
