There are a few bios updates for that board. As long as it has 'AMD Ryzen 3000 Desktop Ready' on the box it should be good to go. Box Art

So I don't need to update the board it's just insert the cpu and go I can update the board later when I install the OS.

Yes, as long as it meets the conditions I stated it should work out-of-box just fine.

I do think the amd athlon 3000g meet the conditions it was released late 2019 and it's part of the new ryzen series the art box it says athlon plus I have not seen any reviews about incompatibility and the 3000g uses zen 2 architecture not zen 3,it's difficult the msi website doesn't show a cou compatability list.

It does appear that this CPU worked on the first BIOS.

The website definitely shows a compatibility list, as it always will.
