Will the Nvidia GTX 650 work with my computer?

I currently have a nvidia 530 but i want to upgrade to a gtx 650 i don't know anything about graphics cards though!

I have
- i7 Processor 64bit
- 12gb of RAM
- 1TB Hard Drive
- My power supply says 430watt
- PCI express motherboard

Well, I personally would go for a 750 for ~$20 more. If you go for a higher card than that (760+), I would like to see the specs on your PSU (brand, model number, etc.). But you should be fine with a 650 or 750 with that PSU as it doesn't require additional power (they only get power from the motherboard).

The GTX 650 should work, but as cball1311 pointed out, the GTX 750 would be a good option too. It has very, very low power draw, making it ideal for smaller power supplies.

Yeah, you have one PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard with the XPS 8300. You are good to go. It should be the slot your GPU is plugged into now.

@Scruffyo2: Yes, those are the slots as seen from the outside of the PC.

The top slot in the picture is what it looks like on the inside:

The card will take the slot your current GPU is in and probably the one below it so it'll fit just fine.
