[SOLVED] Will the price of GPUs ever drop again?

I want to get a GPU for my computer but everything is so expensive will the prices ever drop or will I need to start counting pennies and searching the couch cushions

That depends on if the manufactures can produce the supplies to meet the demand

If you have to ask, probably not.

If you found 3 of them, all differently broken, AND you have good surface mount soldering skills, AND good diagnostic skills, AND a lot of time....

You will probably be able to get 7nm GPUs for a reasonable price once miners switch most of their new purchases to 5nm parts and I'm not expecting that to happen until late-2022 at best.

A bunch of new 3-7nm fabs are expected to come online in 2023 or earlier, so 2023 should be a good year for buyers.

I would say sometime in the next 3-4 years cards will become reasonable at least the older cards (that have been mined on for years 24/7), as miners move to newer cards that can make them more profit.

I wouldn't expect anything to get better on finding cards this calendar year.
