Will the windows 10 preview break any drivers?

I think you have to assume "YES" and "YES". That is why it is a preview. It has known bugs and incompatibilities, and UNKNOWN bugs and incompatibilities...

If your PC supports virtualization i'd use Windows 10 with VirtualBox instead.

I would use windows 10 on VMware player, but virtualbox is good as well. I have both on my desktop and they both work well though I find VMware easier for new users. GPU drivers on windows 10 still are a bit shaky from what I have seen and read, but it plays a 15 year old game that windows 8.1 won't so I think this OS will fix a lot of things when it's done. It also knows when it's in a VM, maybe that's not new but I thought it was cool that it knew because most OS's don't know they are running in a VM.
