Will there be ddr3 motherboards for new chipset

Solution
very nice...indeed I see 8gb ddr4 2400 for 55-60 bucks and ddr3 8gb as low as ~40. Hadn't kept up with ram pricing super recently, I just remember when x99 came out ddr4 was pretty pricey in comparison :p

yes certain motherboards will, but apparently only support 1.35v https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1151

if everything is pushing more towards ddr4, I may nab up some cheap ddr3 8gb sticks at some point, Chrome eats up ram and at times I feel cramped with "only" 8gb.

Maybe regular 1.5v will work, I mean, Intel didn't recommend using 1.65v ddr3 with their cpus, but many people do and theirs never died or anything.

Hopefully this will bring down the cost of ddr4....it's pretty pricey in comparison to ddr3 for little to no real world improvement honestly.

actually DDR4 is getting cheaper and cheaper every day, you can get something like a dual channel 8GB kit of DDR4 for around 60 bucks... 16GB is even less (less then double)

I do remember when DDR4 launched with x99, and 16GB cost over 200$, now you can get it for 120...
and DDR3 is super cheap, 40 dollars for 8GB and 75 for 16GB...
