in theory they should right?

both are 4gb ddr3 1.5v 1600mhz

Probably they will work together, but as always, you're not going to find any guarantees.

Memory is only ever guaranteed to work together, when it is purchased together, in matched and tested kit.

Since those sticks are within the JEDEC standards for DDR3 specifications, the chances are good that they will play nice together but the only way to have any assurances is to buy all the memory you are going to run at one time in a matched set.

Yes that's what i thought. i am getting it cheap so not risking much. i will just test it. Thank you for the quick response

For sure, and if you have problems there are always things we can try to get them TO play nice together. Still not a guarantee, but just because it doesn't work "poof" like magic, doesn't necessarily mean it won't work with a little bit of tweaking.
