If you only plan on having one GPU, getting X99 is a complete waste of your money. Step down to an i7-4790K if you're dead set on an i7, and a Z97 motherboard.

You don't need to buy a wriststrap. You also don't need to buy your own thermal paste, since the cooler will come with a small tube (unless you want marginally better temperatures)

In the future I'd love dual GPUs, when I have the money, and maybe lower temps with the R9 series lol.
Post is updated based on first reply, I think that's all right info.
The thermal and band I'll cut out of it.
I want the parts to be the kind I keep for a LONG time.

So I looked at the 4790k and compared it with the 5820k. According to CPUBoss, the 5820k is worse by .1 rating on a scale of 10. (8.8 compared to 8.9)
It says the 4790k has higher clock speed, turbo clock speed, lower power consumption, OC ability, and some other things.

I use Unity, Autodesk, Adobe software a lot, and then games I run are MMOs, The Witcher 3, Heavily modded Bethesda Games, Watch Dogs, Dragon Age I, and a bunch more.

I mainly want something that will be worth it in the long run, last 5+ years while still being in the "top notch" range.

UPDATE:
So if I go with the 4790k this is what it would look similar to.
