Hi

So I've ordered a MSI GTX 1060 ARMOR 6G and just realized it has an 8-pin power connector so i compared it to the specs of my PSU which stated that it had 6 + 2-Pin PCI-E slots. Will this be compatible with my 8-pin graphics card?

Solution
Yes. It will. 6+2 is the same as an 8 pin and that is only designed that way to support a broader range of cards that do not all require 8 pin so that additional cables are not necessary. It will be fine as far as the connector is concerned. Whether or not the quality of the PSU is satisfactory or not is a different story.

Thanks a bunch. Thankfully this power supply(The Rosewill 750 W Bronze ARC series) holds up pretty well for my i5 7600 and Zotac 970 set up even at heavier loads so it should do even better with the more power efficient 1060.

You're upgrading GTX 970 to GTX 1060?
Pointless upgrade as their performance is pretty similar.

Well the 6 GB of VRAM will help out especially compared to the gimped final 500 MBs of RAM in the 970. Also my Zotac 970 is having fan problems causing excessively high temperatures of 90+ recently which is the main reason I'm changing cards
