Will this bottle neck?

I am thinking of buying the GTX 980 but at the same time I don't want to bottleneck due to my CPU. Currently I have a AMD Phenom II X4 960T Quad Core @ 3.0 Ghz. Will I be bottlenecking if I buy this GPU? And if so, how much of a performance decrease am I looking at?

You would literally be better of taking the $500 you would spend for that GPU, and buying a brand new i3 and supporting motherboard/memory. And then getting a GTX 960 with the remaining money.

That x4 phenom from 2009 will noticeably bottleneck a 960, let alone a 980.

Well it is certainly better but nowdays everybody goes intel
I really dont think that cpu would be worth your money over your current one (assuming you want to use this computer for gaming)

Well basically dont buy the fx cpu
if you want to upgrade go for intel
Your current cpu will hold back a gtx 980 significantly
if you dont want to upgrade your cpu in the near future than in your system the gtx 980 and the 960 would perform almost identically and the 960 is significantly cheaper (the fx cpu would hold the gtx 980 back to the same degree i would not consider that as an upgrade in GAMING for editing and workstation purposes the fx is a nice upgrade)
