Okey, so i bought a pre-built pc a while back and im looking to upgrade it, and i'd like to know if this setup will work:

MSI GTX 1080
i7 6700K Skylake
Cooler Master 500w
8GB HyperX
DVD Read/Write
Seagate 1tb HDD
2 240mm fans + Cpu Cooler Fan

I am also looking to install a 240gb SSD later on

Will my 500w power supply be enough?

Solution
That 500 is junk. The psu is the most important part of the pc. With the i7 6700k you are looking at a system for OC. You'll want a Good 550w-650w. Don't skimp on a quality psu to save $20 after spending $650 on a gpu.

CXM 550, RMx 550, Evga GS/G2 550, Seasonic X/G etc.

It depends on what you already have and are upgrading.
If you don't have a motherboard that supports that processor then it won't work.
The PSU with that 1080 is a no.
Unless your running a very high monitor resolution a GTX 1080 is overkill for gaming.

I have a 4K monitor already. Here is my plan:
Im getting a compatible motherboard and DDR4 i will also be getting a 650w PSU, tell me what you think.
