If you do not own the motherboard, I suggest you look at a different one instead. It is a weak motherboard , it only supports 1333MHz RAM, anything higher than that you will have to OC. It sayd it supports 125W CPUs but I somehow doubt that.

it is not compatible with your motherboard buy AM3 AMD Phenom™ II X4 x960 3.3Ghz which is supported and same power consumption 95W AND ALOT BETTER

First of the AM3+ MB can is backwards compatible down to AM2+

So the Phenom II X4 B97 processor is compatible with the A960D+ Motherboard.
As for the AM3 AMD Phenom™ II X4 x960 it hasn't been launched as far as i know. there is only the x960T version of it.

The difference between them is negligible.
