Will this hard Drive fit into my laptop?

Hello. i have an Acer Aspire E1-521-0851 that has a failing laptop hard drive that refuses to boot up to Windows 8 and makes a "Tick" noise when running. I found a cheap HDD that seems to have GOOD reviews. But im not sure if it will fit or not.

2.5" drives are quite standard.
I suggest you use this misfortune to upgrade to a ssd. It will absolutely transform the performance of your laptop.

If you need the extra space or don't want the cost of an SSD go for a SSHD, I have had really good results with them in laptops. Ok not as good as an SSD but still a big speed improvement in boot and Windows responsiveness for not too much extra.

I have to agree with Geofelt if you have the budget. 256 gig Samsung EVO would be my choice.

Or if you are a bit hard up on money buy a hybrid drive .

They have SSD speeds for loading windows and a few programs you use regularly or frequently.
And come in large storage capacity sizes as medium trade off.

Cheaper than a all Solid state drive.

Not so fast. There are a couple of varieties: 9.5 and 12.5mm thick. Consult your laptop manual to make sure.

9.5's are generally for ultrabooks but will fit both.
