I have a Dell inspiron 15R N5110. To keep it short, the hard drive died. I talked to Dell, and they told me this:
"The Inspiron N5110 system uses Serial-ATA II hard drives and is a Field Replaceable Unit. All the drives are available at 7200 and 5400 rpm drive speeds along with FFS.
The hard drives compatible are 320GB, 500GB, 750GB"
Okay, I am not very bright when it comes to this stuff at all. I do not have much money this month. I am planning on getting something better in a few months, but for now I just want to get my laptop working again.
I found this hard drive, and I am just curious, will it work?
Seagate Momentus ST3500641AS 320GB SATA
Capacity: 320GB
Speed: 5400 RPM
Cache: 8MB
Interface: SATA 3.0Gb/S
Drive Size: 2.5''
SKU: 26024
I looked over this and I see that my laptop has a SATA II motherboard, but this hard drive says the interface is "SATA 3.0Gb/S." I will be honest, I have no idea what that means, but to me, it sounds like it isn't compatible with my computer.
I guess to get to the point, I am just asking, will this hard drive work on my laptop?
Thanks in advance!
