Looking to upgrade my cpu and mobo.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QHdGMZ

All I really do is play World of Warcraft and stream every now and then. I'm really looking to have better fps while gaming. I'm currently using a fx 8350 and a msi 970a-g-43 mobo. Also something else I'm curious about is if my psu will be able to handle it. I'm using a CX 600 PSU. My gpu is a Geforce gtx 970. Might be interested in overclocking down the road.

[strike]Yes, that older CX600 isn't very good and I wouldn't want to risk new parts. You don't need to spend as much as SR-71 recommended (although that is a high quality unit) but at the very least get something like this.

It would only support the 9600K if the BIOS were up to date.

Have you considered the Ryzen 2600? It's much better then your FX and would stream better then the 9600K. Also it would be cheaper and would allow you to get that better PSU.

Intel will give you better FPS but for streaming the 12 threads that the 2600 has would make a difference.

EVO , VERY OLD platform. I would go with something newer.

The difference can range from 1-2 FPS to nearly a 50 FPS difference but even with the higher difference the FPS was still well above 60. I couldn't find a comparison for WoW, you may be able to find one of each but with hopefully a comparable GPU & memory.

No it will work out of the box.

As for the PSU, yours would probably work ok however the Seasonic Focus Gold is much better quality and with overclocking/upgrades you want a good unit as it's the most important part of your system.

The stock cooler for the 2600 is good, it can get a bit loud at full speed but it will keep the 2600 cooled well.

If you were to use your 212 EVO unless you got it recently you'd probably need to contact Cooler Master to get a AM4 bracket for it.
